Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers. Here’s everything you need to know before your journey with Tour Wellington.

🥗 Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Absolutely. We always do our best to accommodate all dietary needs and allergies. You’ll find a section on the booking form to let us know in advance — the earlier, the better, so we can make sure everything is just right for you.

👶 Can I bring children or infants?

We love having families onboard!

  • Children are very welcome but must be supervised at all times by an adult, especially around historic vehicles or moving parts at certain locations.

  • Infants (0–2 years) travel free of charge. However, catering is not included for infants.

What about accessibility or mobility needs?

We’ve taken great care to make our tours as accessible as possible.

  • Our buses and most venues are wheelchair accessible.

  • Please note: due to their age and original design, the historic trams are not suitable for wheelchair access.
If you have specific requirements, please contact us — we’ll do everything we can to assist.

🚗 What happens if there’s traffic?

If the roads get busy heading north, don’t worry — we’ve built in enough time to keep things on track.
If there are delays on the return trip, we’ll keep you informed and handle each situation with care.

👥 What if minimum numbers aren’t met?

A minimum of two guests is required for a tour to proceed — with the exception of the Haast Eagle Tour, which requires a minimum of 100 participants. If the minimum number is not met within 24 hours of departure, a full refund will be offered.

What if I need to cancel?

Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for full cancellation policies and refund windows.

What if the weather is bad?

Rain or shine — the tour goes on! We always plan for all weather conditions, and each stop includes covered or indoor activities. Sunshine is preferred, but not required!

🚻 Are there toilets on the bus?

Our vintage buses are beautifully restored but do not include toilet facilities.
The good news? The first stop is only about 60 minutes from Wellington, and every destination includes full bathroom access.

🎒 Do I need to bring anything?

Nope! Everything you need — from refreshments to good company — is included in your booking. Just bring your sense of adventure.

📍 Where is the pickup point?

Pickup is from Platform 10 inside Wellington Railway Station (Bunny Street entrance). Look for our friendly team!

🚐 Can I arrange a different pickup location?

In some cases, yes. Get in touch with us directly to discuss alternative pickup arrangements — we’ll do our best to make it work.
